This is great! I'm glad it's just a little snippet and not longer, since otherwise the mushyness would be unexcusable. I actually felt sorry for poor Root. The 'you' POV was nicely done too. It's hard to do that.

Interesting use of POV there. I think it worked well. It adds weight to the way that Root is instructing himself. And everyone is in character, yay!

You might want to note that fairies can't drink human alcohol... At the beginning of the first book it mentions that if they do they are "forever dead to their brothers and sisters". Just pretend it's fairy alcohol or something. XD;

Anyway, I like this fic. It's fun. :)
