Good story. Loved the letters between Jack and Sam.

Awesome. Sam and Jack connected - precious. Very angsty with his "kitty" stalking him - rather gruesome image! The story captured the many layers of their bond - friendship, duty, compassion, affection in good characterization; also loved the dialogue and the dream/letter/thought sequences were good visuals. I didn't find anything "sappy" about them; the shippiness was kind of understated and it worked well here. Good work, thanks for this stirring Sam and Jack story.

great fic, but I hope the sequel ends with RST and not UST, with which this fic ended, which, frankly, disappointed me.

just one thing, you can even use it in the sequel: Jack and Sam are 2 healthy mature, adult people, who are in love and share a mind link. I sincerely doubt that neither of them would ever have an erotic dream, much less not even once in the course of weeks or months. These dreams are completely normal and quite common in people who are going through years of abstinence and strong sexual tension and thus frustration, which J&S are undoubtebly going through. And the probability that they would always dream of being on Jack's roof together, when they share a dream, and never dream of sex is very small. You might use this kind of dream in the sequel as a kind of a push or a plot device.

loved it, especially because you knocked down those stupid legends about Jack not doing paperwork (he was the base's 2IC which means he did most of the paperwork when it came to running the base) and the dumb act (everyone with a little brain knows he's not stupid, you don't make a 2 Star without some really high education and intelligence).
