I'm all about Greg action and angst, and Nick too--I like the focus you have on friendship (as opposed to pages and pages of smut or sara angst, like I've read in so many other fics) and I think your characterizations are right on the dot! I've been rereading your fics, and look forward to your next update (hint hint!).

I know I'm a little slow in reviewing, but I like to go back and read a story (especially one as stunning and superb as this) time and again - and of course, little things like real life get in the way! But now I've made it, I have to say just how incredible this story was. And a one-shot, too! As much as I adore your multi-chapter stories (and even the evil cliffhangers), this was a real treat - Christmas and birthdays all come early! And the plot was brilliantly constructed, more and more gradually revealed, until we learn the truth of what happened to Greg. Yes, it did seem like Nick was being persecuted afterwards - and the procedures and his being hauled over the coals might have felt like petty office politics, but the bombshell at the end... Woah, I really wasn't expecting that!I think I was just about as shocked and appalled as Nick! Wow that was one of the most fantastic endings I've ever read. I genuinely didn't see it coming, but it was utterly perfect. As ever, the characterisations were spot on, the dialogue nothing short of perfect and you captured what is, to me, the very essence of the show. No, they're not perfect; yes, they can make mistakes; and every now and then, they're reminded of how deadly those mistakes can potentially be. Great, great story! In fact, I'm starting to run out of superlatives! Great doesn't even come close to capturing how much I loved this story. Thanks for the acknowledgement, by the way. I really appreciated that. It kind of made my day (as if you hadn't already done that just by posting this fic!) and I just want you to know that I genuinely mean everything that I write in these reviews.
