Wonderful head peice. It's both book and film Faramir, and beautifully blended, too. And nice work remebering Gandalf's line. Although, you have to ask, was it Faramir that Denethor mourned, or the death of his House?

But I have to wonder-are you going to write a multi-fandom Angsty Thoughts After Death Of Loved One series? What's next, Esme Rogonin after her father's death? Trap Meridon after Raynen's death? - Naethiel after your death? (Do you count as a "loved one"? *laughs*)
