I get this. But the problem is, I can get it in many different ways. Like trembling Heero could mean that he feared for Duo's life, or that could mean that he remembered that girl the puppy, and that's why he doubted for a second.

Hm... My Heero/Duo slash obsession tells me there's something important in the line "She was going to shoot you again." If that was, indeed, what you wanted to convey, it might be a good idea to stress how unsettled he was at the idea. Make his voice crack, or better yet, have him start babbling. If that WAS what you wanted to convey.

Or else I just may be another yaoi fangirl seeing shounen-ai where there is none. ;)

I licked it, it was a great characterization of them both, and a good use of interrogation tactics, ;p. So yeah, great story, even with the slight "wha?" at the end.
