So I, the silly little Sandman fan I am, write it down and memorize it. And write a short little poem inspired by it. (I generally do this for Poe, Clive Barker, and Neil Gaiman.)

And now I understand the passion behind blinded eyes,
the longing of an immortal to hear their own sand sigh,
His heart is full of sorrow, though never shall he cry,
(But for a black robe full of anguish and the deep and star-filled eye)

A brave and beguiling attempt; though I'd take issue with the Endless' "time" being short.

What about a sestina about silence, using the key words dark, ragged, never, screaiming, fire, kiss - Richard Madoc's Morpheus-inspired idea...

Wow, this is impressive. I know what you mean about terzanelles. I wrote a villanelle for the lit mag I edit and I spent an entire day just on the final quattrain.

It's ambitious, evocative ... beautifully written! Yours is truly an amazing talent. Can't wait to read more of your work!
