Reviews for: King Lear

Nice! I read King Lear this year for English and I'm glad to read some fanfic about it. A very interesting letter from corderlia, it describes the situation very well. Kinda funny too. The only thing I wouldn't agree with is calling France "the duke". I'm not too sure, but wasn't he the King of France, considering that France isn't really a dukedom? When I read it, I thought they meant he was the KING of France. That's the only thing I found wrong with it. Good job

I like this one too. Sorry I didn't reply to the reply that you sent me, but I think one of my brothers deleted it. (darn siblings!)
Goneril and Regan are interesting characters, not as intersting as the Fool, but still interesting. I like what you did with their relationship in this letter, and how you've made it strictly business. Throwing in Oswald and the complaints about Albany were nice touces. I think you asked me in the email about some ideas...well, I would absolutely love to see something on the Fool, but he's probably going to be a hard character to get inside the head of. I think something on Edgar or Kent would be nice, I love them so much too.
Keep writing, and update soon!
Lear's Fool
2005-12-28 . chapter 1
As small of a role that Cordelia may be, you know exactly who she is when your read her lines. You portrayed her very well in this fic, and I enjoyed reading it. I especially liked this part-
"Apparently either Regan's right, and I am his favourite, or he can't stand to be insulted in front of his attendants."
-because this has been debated among crticis, and I can only imagine that Cordelia would have questions about Lear's indignation and anger at her response. A few small things to watch are your Shakespearean words. At one point you used the word "fake" instead of "false", wich is the more likely term.
One more thing I absolutely loved was "Sometimes a king is as (or even more) foolish than his fool."
Hehe, sorry, I have a slight addiction to the fool, I just had to point that out. Go coxcomb!
