How often it happens exactly this way! A page is turned or the Bible is opened, and the eye immediately falls upon the passage that calms fears, supplies answers and gives comfort. Beautifully written, as always, Marty, and how very appropriate!

I’m slowly catching up on my reading and was thrilled to find this little gem!

Quite touching the manner in which Hogan resolves his doubts and anxieties. Lovely final biblical passage - even though Thanksgiving is well over, the meaning behind it applies all year. Well done, Marty!

I'm a little late (okay, a lot late), but...

That was lovely. You did an excellent job balancing guilt and remorse with thanksgiving and praise.

Wonderful.

Cheers,

A very well written and thoughtful story.

- To the day when "nation shall no longer rise up against nation", when we "shall beat our swords into ploughshares, our spears into pruning hooks", and we will no longer need to study war.

Very well written. Carter's quite right. Thanksgiving is a verb.
= May that day come when "nation shall not lift up their sword against nation", the day when we shall "beat our swords into ploughshares, our spears into pruning hooks."

Thanks for the story. I enjoyed the biblical passages. One time for thanks giving, all we did for an hour is share with each other things we are thankful for. I know I have a lot to be thankful for.

Lovely, Marty. We do have to give thanks, even when there's not much around to be joyful about. It was a very nice piece, thanks for your inspired words.
Brava.
