abuseNice little short. It fills the gap in a very credible way. I like the way you expressed Ziva's feelings during the flight and how she kept thinking about Ari in his coffin.

Though I'm going to check out more of your stories (I liked your style) I really don't think you should write a sequel. Your ending was too strong and to me, just perfect. :)

abuseThis is an interesting insight into Ziva's character. She's actually my favourite character, but I only came into the series in the second season, so Ziva is all I really had to go by.

I noticed that a couple of people have mentioned this, but it did irk me when you mentioned the Muslim attire. There is a lot of animosity between Israeli Jews and the Muslim Middle East, so the mention of Muslim attire at Ziva's brother's funeral was quite a shock. Just an FYI.

I would love to see you continue with this thread. I think there's a lot of Ziva's character that can be explored and you seem to be doing quite well.

abuseI like it. I actually like Ziva. Sh, don't tell them; they have spies everywhere. ::shifty eyes:: GAH! the evil bunny spies!
Seriously, I agree that Ziva's misunderstood. I think we should judge her character based off her... character.
She actually had me as soon as she threw that knife in 'Switch'. I applaud your efforts and balls in writing this. I guess you grew what you needed. ;) Eagerly anticipating your next chapter,
Alex

abuseThank-you for writing about Ziva. . . . you're right, she isn't trying to take Kate's place but rather, make one of her own. She has a rich character from which to draw from and I think that she adds alot to the cast.
To live life means to learn how to live with change. . . both good and bad.

Thanks for sharing your story & talent,

abuseI think you should continue it. It is an incredibly insightful look not only at Ziva but at Gibbs too ( ireally liked her thoughts on Gibbs...very accurate IMHO)

But I would do a little research next time into the Jewish faith if you want to go down that route as to what the cermony would be like and what Ziva would wear.

But thats a minor point IMHO ...this is a wonderful peice of work

abuseI love this, you caught Ziva so very well. Her mixed emotions, her remorse at what she had to do and that Ari had become what he was. I especially like her description of their relationshio with their faither.

All very nice.

Now I have to poke at one hole, because you've done so well and I can see you want to accurrate:
"changing from her casual wear to her long black Muslim attire that was typical for a ceremony."

Ziva is an Isreali Jewish woman. The chadra, which is what you're describing, is not somthing she would wear under any circumstance (okay, if she was undercover for Mossad, she would). You are supposing Ari's funeral will follow Jewish custom -- you mention the rabbi -- so Ziva would wear formal Jewish, not Muslim, attire, which is very western European. If he's being buried according to Muslim tradition, an iman (not rabbi) would lead the service and she wouldn't be allowed to be present (being a woman).

Again, I think this is great and I love your treatment of Ziva's thoughts on the plan ride home. I look forward to your next stories.

abuseI think you should continue the story. I liked it.
You are doing a good job exploring the way Ziva is handling the fact that she had to kill her own brother.
I imagined her way of coping a bit differently, and it's really interesting to see a different and plausible view of this.
Just so you know (In case you want to visit) there are direct flights between almost every major US city and Tel Aviv (so no need to fly through Osaka).
