This story is *great*, I can't believe I haven't found it before. It's very true to canon, impressively so. And you've got some laugh-out-loud lines here, like the comment about Snape looking like he was from a Mad-Max movie. I particularly enjoyed Harry's description of Snape's history... because *it's not a lie*. The scenes have changed but the names remain the same - Snape *was* an assassin of sorts who's now working at a school he hates with children he'd likely enjoy murdering. That sort of humor, with two 'layers' (funny story!)(wait... that's the god's honest truth!) is really hard to pull off, but you manage it admirably.

Plus, the plot! I've rarely seen a re-working of 4th year that was so original. In fact, I've rarely seen a re-working of 4th year. Judging by the date, there's the possibility that you hadn't yet *read* the 4th book when you wrote this, but still... I appreciate the novel nature of it (no pun intended.)

"Dressed in black jeans, black Doc Martens and a black trench coat, he looked as though he'd been sent by a sinister terrorist organisation to kill James Bond."

That line rocks my socks. Besides which, the image of Snape dressed like someone from the Matrix is good enough all on its own...

This is an intriguing premise... I've never seen it done before. Snape truly still believes...? Hmm.

Thrilling story. The suspense was breath taking. I've already read twice. I'm printing out a copy and putting it into a book form. How about you read my story its called War Of The Element.

Hey,

I liked your story, but I didn't like the way you said 'Middle Eastern assasain.' I don't think you meant it in that way, but at first glance I took it that you sort of immediately referred to the Middle East when you said assasain. I'm sorry if that wasn't how you meant it, but that's how it seemed to me.

hehehe, that was good, it's kinda interesting to read something that's suposed to be from his fourth year . . . whent he books out, yeah . . . v. funny though
The webs suggested some kind of spider, and Aragog and his relatives were definitely big enough to eat an owl. But surely their webs wouldn't simply vanish when touched? No ordinary spider Harry had ever squashed had had red blood, either.
The first thing that popped into my mind was spiderman. Don't know why . . . but yeah. Good story, I'll be reading more soon.
