Nelia 2006-03-22 . chapter 32Lovely just lovely. I love the insecure and lost that's inside Alexander. I love him to death, pardon the pun, when he makes an appearance. 'Cause it makes for such lovely moments when Hephaistion gets to take care of him.
Definatly one of the best chapters yet!
Is this the end? * wails * No, you cannot stop there. I do hope you're going to write more stories soon 'cause you're really talented :)
hugs

Nelia 2006-03-22 . chapter 31I can't believe I have missed the warning for this chapter, I never missed one before. I was wondering what took so long, I thought you might have been sick or something. But aparently it was something I did ;)
Anyways, love the conversation between Alexander and Hephaistion. I was much calmer then I would have expected. Seems Alexander is trying his best to control himself, probably because he knows Hephaistion would leave otherwise.
I'm so happy to see Hephaistion is going to stay. And even though I'm not into Bagoas, I'm glad Alexander is going to let him stay.
Great chapter! On to the next one ;)

Queendel 2006-03-22 . chapter 32A really nice epilogue which concluded a remarkable fic. It clearly showed why, despite having other lovers, that Alexander and Heph's love for each other was eternal...they were one soul, two parts of one whole.
Alexander was the sole holder of Heph's heart and he made his dream his, but Heph was Alexander's friend, confidante, lover, constant supporter, conscience, the person who kept him sane, his dream alive and most likely gave him the inspiration to achieve it...because he belived in him.
Thanks for sharing such an amazing story filled with angst, love and passion, but moreso Alexander's respect and realization that Heph was so much more, and Heph final belief that he was indeed someone worthy in his own right of Alexander, and all that he was.
Looking forward to more fics soon. |
Baliansword 2006-03-19 . chapter 31I absolutely love where you have taken this story. It is wonderful and I love the ending. Especially since Hephaestion and Alexander finally are back together. I do still feel some of the pain of Bagoas and Cassander, however, Alexander and Hephaestion could never be separated. It is wonderful that you have such well rounded characters that go through highs and lows, even if at times it freaks me out. What I love the most is that at times you can love and hate all of the characters. Which is wonderful that you don't keep them the same! Thank you for not doing that. Your characters, and plot, is wonderful.
Thanks, also, for responding to all of your readers. That is something that a lot of people take for granted, (not that I do it because I'm so lame), but I just noticed I've never thanked you. So thank you!
It was wonderful to read your tale, and everything woven in with it. Can't wait for the epilogue, but that shall be bittersweet, for it will actually be the end. Yet I'm sure that I'll read more of your work soon. Wond'rous.

Kitten =^-^= 2006-03-18 . chapter 31 Great ending to a great fic. I'm just sad that it's... *sniff sniff* over. *cries* |
Queendel 2006-03-16 . chapter 31An interesting yet poignant chapter which left the reader both sad and hopeful.
Again, Heph has given up what he wants for Alexander, but I guess he has finally accepted that without him, Alexander is nothing, and neither is he. I hope that Alexander appreciates Heph sacrifices for him.
I like the fact that Bagoas is staying with Heph. At least now when Alexander strays, Heph would have someone for himself.
I adore Heph, like and tolerate Alexander and was exasperated with the complex Cassander at times, even as I understood his behaviour. He was such a complex person; on the onehand so bitter against Heph and then, wanting him for himself also. I guess, I can understand his bitterness as he had neither Heph or Alexander's love.
A wonderful, exciting fic overall which showcased Heph as I like to see him; strong, determined, loyal, skillful, and loved, and an Alexander who showed to all that he loved Heph, above all others.
I hate to see the end of this fic, but at least I am confident that you would supply us with more creative and awesome fics soon.
I look forward to the Epilogue. Thanks for sharing. |
Baliansword 2006-03-12 . chapter 30 Another great chapter, even though it was not what I had expected. Oddly enough I don't know who to like! Of course I will always love Hephaestion the most. But sometimes I want to strangle him and just yell at him. I so wish he'd just cave and go back to loving Alexander. Although I want to strangle Alexander when he just leaves Cassander. I'm thinking, that isn't enough. Why are you just leaving him there? He doesn't really want you to go to Hephaestion, he's just saying that! Then I want to strangle Cassander because he confuses me. He wants the power, then the friendship, then the love...I wish I could just tell him to pick one. Bagoas I just want to glare at a little, even though I feel bad about his situation. But then again, he is Bagoas, and he is that character that you have to glare at. Sheesh. So hard to pick my favorite! So there is something in each of them right now I want to just sigh at, sit them down, strangle them, then have a heart to heart with. Is this what you're aiming for?
Also, so now is he going to go to Hephaestion? Because if he is, which I think he should, will Hephaestion let him in? I wonder, will he be the colder Hephaestion we're getting used to...or the warm affectionate one I love him as when he is in Alexander's embrace?
Can't wait to see your next post!

Queendel 2006-03-12 . chapter 30Great update. I like the quarrel beween Alexander and Cassander as it help to clear the air as a lot of things that needed to be said, were, and it brought the true nature of their relationship and reasons for it out into the open. A lot of valuable truths came out. Both men were using each other, and for their own selfish purposes.
I think that Cassander was grossly unfair in his opinion about Heph, and his bitterness shown through when he said that he didn't deserve a place in the army and the men still think him a slave. Heph was proven to be a Lord's son and had proven himself in battle, even against his father. It was only a stoke of bad luck that he became a slave, he was not born into it. Also, is Cassander implying that if it was Alexander who, a Prince, was taken young as a slave and then miraculous was returned to his land, he would still be viewed as a slave. I don't think so. Despite what happened, one lineage would have to be respected. I also think that Heph's unusal beauty played a great part in how he was perceived, despite his abilities.
And you say that "Alexander will never be truly sure of Hephaestion’s love again", but what about Heph, could he really trust in Alexander's love knowing that he was so quickly replaced by Cassander in one night. And if Alexander do not now acknowledge his new status as a Lord in his own right and punish Cassander for what he did, would this not reinforce Heph's view that he was nothing to Alexander. Afterall, if Alexander does nothing about Cassander's attack on Heph, and Heph thinks that it is because Cassander is Alexander's lover, would he not think that the King valued Cassander above him and protected him, whereas he did not offer him the same honour.
And Cassander is being most foolish for what does he have to forgive Heph for? What has Heph done him? Nothing! And he is being silly when he accuses Alexander of betraying him, for in his heart, he ALWAYS knew that Heph came first with Alexander, that the King will always love him.
Heph is a diplomatic and honourable soul, who will still bow to Alexander's wishes as he would not want to hurt him, but at what price to himself and their continued relationship? I eagerly look forward to their meeting and I hope that Alexander's words/actions are not coloured by the fact that Heph has Bagoas.
Looing forward to a quick update. |
Kitten =^-^= 2006-03-12 . chapter 30 Still can't help but feel sorry for Cassander. (Call me a bit of a fan girl.) But a kiss on the cheek is a much much better punishmen than possibly being executed. So hoorah for kisses and hugs! :) |
Nelia 2006-03-12 . chapter 30Oh, this was not what I was expecting. Oh no, this is way better.
Cassander is one confussing guy, at times he seems to love Alexander, really love him and at times he seems to just use him. And during that conversation I saw both, he's clearly jealous he's being dumped for Hephaistion *again* and yet he doesn't deny the fact he's been using Alexander to get more power.
Even though his loyalty is questionable, I'm glad they are still friends. Hopefully he won't bump into Hephaistion too often ;)
I'm curious about Alexander's conversation with Hephaistion though!
Great chapter!
Update soon! |
Baliansword 2006-03-10 . chapter 29 Hey, another wonderful chapter. I love all of the excitement. I cannot wait, repeat CANNOT, wait to see what Alexander has in store for Hephaestion and Cassander. I think that the two did need to get some of their frustrations out. Do not agree that Bagoas should have been involved but I understand Cassander's motives there at least.
Hope to see you update soon. Who will Alexander side with, I wonder. Cassander or Hephaestion?
