As well as Marsan, the Susan/Susie storyline was always one of my favourites and that song always reminds me of it. Drunk Susan was great! You have to feel sorry for her - her line in the show about falling in love with Susie was so sad and you really captured that in your fic. I love the line about being the drunk sister now - you can imagine the bitter way she would say that. Of course she would turn to Mark first, because he was her best friend (and they really should have been so much more than that!). I love the line about his apartment being the only place she remembers when she's drunk. And I love how simply honest she is about missing little Susie. She wouldn't be that honest with anyone else, I think. "And he realises that he hadn’t planned for this scenario." ^^I love that line. You've got a great style of writing! I love how Mark left a woman in his bed to be with Susan. I love the added humour of the constant line of taxi drivers - that was a great addition to the story! And poor Mark with no shoes on in the pouring rain! You write their relationship so well, you're a natural Marsan writer! You get the right balance of their ease with each other, the occasional awkwardness because there's more than just friendship in some respects, their ability to be honest with each other. This was a great fic! I hope you either continue or write more Marsan! :) Michelle xx |
