Gan, I keep getting caught up in what you write, often at very bad times, like when I'm supposed to be doing Japanese homework so I can fulfil my colleg language requirements. But the thing is, it's just so ABSORBING. I don't want to break away from your style because it's very immersive, and the parallelism makes it so. It's got such a reflective nature. And while your vision of Percy doesn't quite align with mine, it's a really charming one nonetheless. I like your Penelope more and more as I wade through your things (that makes me sound like I'm robbing you. Maybe I am?) and I'm really rather glad I found your stuff. Are you writing professionally? (Or planning to?)

It doesn't seems so surprising that Percy read a lot of Jane Austen. And he reminds me a lot of Frederick Wentworth, no worthly of his love.

I really love the way you write. In the past, I had little sympathy for Percy, but you really bring him alive. I love that he isn't certain about his politics and yet his insistence that cooperation means safety. He's clinging to an institution, which is totally Percy, even when the institution seems to be crumbling.

The way you show his frustration with his family and wanting to give Penny more than Arthur gave Molly makes a lot of sense to me. Plus, as an avid Austen fan, I have to say I greatly admire your use of themes and characters from her novels--the idea of Wentworth and Knightley was touching, and the "duffer" reference to Wickham really made me laugh.

Percy's interpretation of Austen was wonderful (but it kind of shows why Hogwarts needs some good liberal arts classes)--I could see where he would get confused, with his limited knowledge of history. It's very in character that Percy would try to learn currency and stocks from a book. The squabbles over the check and the presentation of gifts struck me as totally human--neither Muggles nor wizards own that brand of awkward. I very much liked Penny's history lecture. In short, I liked everything! I really hope you write more. Thanks!

Liked it. I especially like the way you fleshed out Penelope's character and her relationship with her family in this and the previous fics. And the way you had Percy misinterpret the Jane Austen novels was just cute. Is there going to be another sequel to this?
