woah...so long...BUT I will read it! I'm just reviewing first!

First things first, happy birthday! *g*

And, wow, I feel a bit like it's *my* birthday, because I *really* enjoyed this story. *vbg* I'd copied some lines I thought were superlative, but really there are too many; I'll just say that if I was ever actually going to get around to reading past volume eleven, I'd be hoping it felt kinda like this.

Some parts I especially enjoyed were Kai-stern's initial confrontation with Alfeegi and Ruwalk's confusion as to who Alfeegi's lover was; I was surprised to like to Alfeegi/Reema moments as much as I did considering it's not one of my favoured pairings, but you made it so cute I'd no choice. *vbeg* Ah... Alfeegi and Kai-stern's back and forth was razor sharp, I really liked the way they played off each other (their friendship definitely deserves more attention in fics).

Of course, it was Alfeegi who sucked me in, so... just lovely characterization on that point, so blunt and so kind in all the right places.

The only criticism I would venture is that you occasionally misspelled Duma's name as Durma (I'm sure Duma is the correct spelling, at least, though TokyoPop may have made a liar of me...) towards the end of the fic, and at points I felt your writing was being weighed down by too many extraneous words (e.g. is a villain not generally nasty by nature of *being* a villain? *g*) However, that is, of course, very subjective, and on the whole didn't impinge upon my enjoyment of the story. *g* Loved it, hope to see you write more in this fandom.
