That was beautiful. Really. I almost cried. THe feelings & thoughts you posrtayed Julian as having were very realistic. I just wish I could remember what kokalaga was...

I think that was a very good use of Julian's naive-ness. (Or whatever) Well, not really that, so much as, even through his enhancements and trouble with that, he always remained innocent- until someone close to him died. You know his character very well. Good fic.

What? He would never give up the bear. Good story, but that last bit made me want to hit things.

This was very sweet. It made me sad about Jadzia's death all over again. She was my favourite character in all of Trek, and I always thought that Bashir deserved to have her (I know, he got Ezri in the end, but it wasn't the same . . .). Especially touching was your ending. Despite his stoicism, I always believed that Jadzia's death tore Julian up in ways that could never be repaired. The symbolism of his giving the bear to her as a final gift is poignant. When Jadzia became involved with Worf, I, too, saw a dramatic shift in his personality. It was as if he grew old in a day. When Jadzia died, so did his last shred of youthful happiness ( . . . until Ezri showed up, but I thought that was forced.)

If you're gonna start writing ST:DS9 fics, I'm ever so gald you're writing Julian/Jadzia fics (or any Julian-centric fic that isn't slash or Mary Sue, for that matter). Oh, and just to let you know, the name of Julian's teddy bear is Kalukalaka. (I'm not sure if that's the exact spelling, but it's closer than Kokalaga.)
