Lovely story. I wish we could see more bonding moments between McKay and Dex. The two are such opposite personalities, but I think there's affection hidden deep down.

Aww, this was a wonderful look at both Ronon and Rodney. Not enough fic or screen time with these two together. :) I think the line works both ways myself, so I can't give you a yay or nay on that. I can't believe I missed this first being posted! I must have been having post-finals angst or something. Awesome fic Jen! :)

WOW. That was great. I loved this b/c it's so original. You never see a fic with Rodney and Ronon talking about something as personal as this, and I just enjoyed the reactions from each character a lot. I was thinking, "Wow...that's so Rodney" or "Wow...that's so Ronon." Seriously, very well done. Hope to see more about these two in the future!

Great, but I agree with the "I have a selfish bastard reputation to keep up" because there are times, like in the S2 ep where they met a group of convicts that were on that island as bait for the wraith [can't remember what its called, probably something like Convict, lol] you could see the shock on Rodney's face when the guy said "I know you're kind, they don't think about themselves, you have to threaten they're friends before you'll get them to do what you want". Well, it was something like that anyway.
Great anyway, we don't see enough emotional scenes between Rodney and Ronon.

Heh, yeah, but his reputation is that he's a selfish bastard. That's what everyone else says about him (those that don't actually know Rodney McKay, of course), and I'm sure they rarely say it behind his back. A little bit of snarkastic rebuttal to all the derogatory remarks made about Rodney's character... *snort*
So, excellent read, and kept perfectly within the confines of the character's personalites, m'dear. Well done, indeed. :)

i love these two characters and the way they interact, because they're somewhat similar, yet so completely different, and you've captured that perfectly here! i do agree with you, that "selfless bastard" would be more of a mckay-thing to say, but in context, "selfish" does work better, because he's keeping up a reputation of sarcasm and apathy towards others. anyways, really great job, brilliant writing, totally in character, and lots more! keep up the great work!
