It doesn't surprise me the least bit that the California Highway Patrol and the Los Angeles County Fire Department have contact with each other. I have the first few seasons of CHiPs and in a few episodes, Station 51 was indeed featured when a fire or accident {or in a few cases, a false alarm} occurred. It's always intriguing to me how a gentleman from one service and another gentleman from another would be friends with each other. I have also thought what would happen if say Mike Stoker and Jon Baker were friends or Frank Poncherello and Marco Lopez were buddies from Van Nuys or maybe Hank Stanley, Roy DeSoto and Joe Gretrear were neighbors on the same block and they and their wives and families got together for a neighborhood barbeque, which, from what I understand, is a tradition in California. Now, who would be friends with Chet Kelly? Maybe Arte Grossman? I mean, they were the comedy relief in both shows, especially when Grossman had his taxes done by a psychiatric patient and Kelly tried to have everyone diet and he wound up making this dreadful steak sauce with some health tonic stuff:

Roy {takes a bite, then spits out his food} : This is awful!
Johnny {gagging on the food} : What is in this stuff?

I really liked this story. I could feel for both Baricza and Gage.

I don't even know if you are still with fanfiction after all this time, but I had to say how much I enjoyed your story. Bear was always my favorite character on the show and you kept me on the edge of my seat as I was reading this one-to think of Barry being shot and almost dying!

I thought I'd written a review for this when I read it about 2-3 months ago.. and I was wrong. Wonderful story! You did a good job and it's very believable.
I love the Emergency!/CHiPs cross over... only watched Emergency! in re-runs as a kid, but I did enjoy it, and I LOVE that you've pulled Bear into the limelight. Jon is my all-time favorite, but Bear is a close 2nd!
