Well, if it's any character we know, it's got to be Artemis. If it's Butler I'll kill myself. Nah, on second thought, I'd just kill Kitty. Heck, even if it isn't him I'd kill her. No offense, of course, Kitty. Strictly business. Can't be Foaly, Trouble, Mulch, or Chix b/c they already gave presents, so who else, eh? Who else? If it's a character I don't know, then I don't care. The Guide supports the idea that it's Artemis, because Artemis takes thinks everything needs to be studied up upon. BUT if it IS Artemis, wouldn't he think she'd be able to tell by the materials and brands that it's above-ground make-up, an above-ground card/paper, etc.?

But did it HAVE to be make-up he gave her? That is so - average schoolgirl. Also, I don't get what you mean by "this was her little confession." What did she confess? That she liked make-up? But then you say, "Except he had sent her this unsigned package, so he can't have done..." That sounds like guessing to me. It's a confusing passage, anyway.
