I must have read this story at least 80 friggin times and I never have reviewed. This was an excellent fanfic. I think you had Natsuki's and Nao's relationship down perfectly. I love NaoxNat together. This is probably one of the best stories I've read.

Well, I certainly don't hate Shizuru, and I don't mind stories where she's paired with Natsuki... as long as it doesn't happen in a wink. I mean, in a way she did hurt Natsuki badly, and even if something was to happen between us in potential futures, it would take a lot of time. First, the two would need to recement their friendships, over new basis born from the events of the Carnival. Natsuki would have to deal with the mistrusts she feels towards her oldest friend, while shizuru would have to deal with what she did when she lost it. So far, my favorite story relating these events is Ange Sinistre's "Antipodes", and the following Kyoto Hunt.
Now, I never envisioned a pairing between Nao and Natsuki, but I must admit so far you made a pretty good job of working it. Though for different reasons, it would still take time for anything like that to happen between the two.

I feel a little bad about laughing about a line like this after the second half of the chapter, but since I had already copied it to my clipboard, I just wanted to say that brought up great imagery. I also really liked the first "poetic" paragraph and its explanation as well as pensive Nao. Leave it to Natsuki to have something like Jack Daniel's in her apartment. I thought the dialogue flowed well between the two, and good point about Natsuki having someone around who could obviously fix her bike for her.

Ah well, poor trio.
