Oh my, what a night this turned out to be. I am so glad that Duo followed his instincts and got all 4 kids out. It didn't matter to him whose kids they were, he just wanted to save them. In the process he saved both himself and his lover.

When things similar to this happen in real life, you just know that there is someone out there watching you.

Love this story. I love re-reading it! Kind of heartbreaking to think of the what-ifs that some people must face.

Long time after this was written, I know, but I had to comment. This was horrifyingly touching. My house burned down a year ago and I went back into the house (so I skimmed the disturbingly descirptive parts about the house). Great story, made me a cry.

OMG, that was twelve kinds of creepy-good. Seriously gave me shivers and the second to last paragraph made me cry. Very very nice.

omg...i really do feel indentured to you...every time i feel in need of a good old fashioned story with plausible plot, nice message, and genuinely likeable characters i can turn to your stories. Just yesterday, in fact, i was feeling this way, and i immediately went straight to your perhistoric fiction "Web of Betrayal" that captured my heart and mind so long ago, and read all 179 pages of it (thats about how many pages there are when its copied to MS Word) over the span of one night and one day...and loved every bit of it. then, u can imagine my surprise when an email tells me that u have a new fic out, one appropriately about christmas, and then to read it...i was totally blown away. how beautiful, u truly do have skill, an inarguable knack for story telling...and such a well-demonstrated comprehension for the human soul and mind. i luv how u illuminate what it would have been like for duo and heero had heero convinced duo to not go back in...what their future without their kids would have been like...everything...amazing.
sheer brilliance is what i see in ur fiction, and i really am grateful to u for giving us readers such joy as we partake in our pastimes.
happy holidays! and have a happy new year!
