Wow. I thought I'd read all of your fantastic stuff but somehow missed this excellent work. I'm so very glad you didn't go the 'easy' route and have the Asgard or Tok'ra "fix" Jack.

I broke my back at age 10 and spent a year in a chair during my recovery. I eventually healed well enough to compete as both a speedskater and a rower. You did a fantastic job on the portrayal of Jack's thoughts and recovery process.

I have been enjoying reading this past couple of days. I'm almost done. And I have to admit the emotions are raw. Glad I'm not at work reading this! My co-workers would never understand the sniffling and tears. Yet, I really am enjoying this. Not sure which part has been my favorite. You really got into the fact that people however unintentional are very condescending, arrogant or oblivious to people with physical challenges. We also some equate at having 1 disability as to having mental incompetency, or ignorance, or the inability to speak or hear when people are talking about people with disabilities. That was so good!

I also liked how Jack and Sam got a little "revenge" when they emerged from the Prez's limo! That was good. The automatic wonder of getting out of the car with the President.

I also enjoyed all the SG team leaders along with Daniel and Teal'c going out to get blitzed. Yet they were all somewhat intimidated of the thought of going home to Sam in that condition. Priceless!!

Well I got this far tonight so I don't think I'm going to get this finished tonight. But had to tell you I liked the raw emotion in the story. I feel like I'm going through this with Jack and Sam too. It's kinda a carthesis. But I think you've stayed true to the characters and all. Wondering though what happened to Maybourne. Glad Jack was able to get the "last word" with General Vidrine. He has no sense of humor whatsoever! And wondering about this hush-hush investigation that Jack and Harry were involved in, in the first place. Very good story!

Had to leave you this review. This is excellent! I've got my box of Puffs--the Vicks kind--to help breathe, as I sniffle away here reading this. OMG. This is so Jack. And Hammond is very good. Wow! That took forever to read, but it was worth it!! I love the friendship between Jack and Mayborne and with Jack, Daniel, and Teal'c. And I of course loved the Jack/Sam.

Wow. You're good. Very good. All fanfic writers should have to bow before your presence on a daily basis to show how unworthy they are. Thanks for such a good and refreshingly different read.

I understand why Sam doesn't want Jack to think too much about healing completely, but she could be a bit more positive with Jack. She sounds like she's discouraging him entirely from thinking about being healed; like she's already given up on that. In fact, there are numerous stories of people at least healing partially from this kind of injury, and even in some cases of being healed completely (with a LOT of work). And if Jack wants to think of the best possible outcome, I don't think it's unreasonable to allow him that.
