Enjoyed reading this, really interesting analysis on Lilah's part as she explained how his love for Fred drove him to dark deeds...very insightful as Lilah has always been. Felt a little badly for Wes, apparently under her control, not a good place to be, I always enjoyed their somewhat even footing, where he in the end, has the upper hand, and she is only left with clarity of sardonic wit to fall back on. But at the very last, it seems there is hope for him to help his comrades, and that is a gift from Lilah, so this writing answers yet again how she truly felt about Wesley and how she must keep him in her un-life...well written, thanks for writing!

I must say, your note at the begining was extremely sad. I knew that poor Wes was getting gyped in his ending. I want to tell you to write more of this, but I think it's really where it needs to stop. Wesley was always my favorite character. Thanks for giving him a fitting end.

Woah...what a story! I realize it's been almost a year since you posted this and probably even longer since you wrote it, but I'd dearly love to see it continued. Any chance of convincing you to let us know what becomes of our dear Wesley?

That's amazing. Really. From the perfect characterizations of Wes and Lilah, to the simple idea. I especially loved where you pointed out how Lilah technically led him to make more decisions on the lighter side of things, while the Pure-and-Perfect Fred caused him to take more shady courses of action without a second thought. I hadn't fully noticed that before. All of Wesley's sarcasm was tucked in beautifully, which just made all the other points stand out even better. The dragon-metaphor and the 'Because that went so well last time' bits were great. The various internal struggles from keeping a straight face or not reacting in some other way to blocking memories from returning was also brilliantly written. And again, the simple idea for this is just too cool.

Although I loved Fred & Wes together, I always felt that there was a genuine connection between Wes & Lilah. I believe she truly loved him. I think she can make his afterlife better. She may very well be right about Fred's effect on him. I wish she had imploded Lorne's brain, though. But I guess Lindsey will do well there, too-as long as there's no basement torture chamber!

Interesting way to go, would like to know more about this contract and how the final battle goes in your eyes.
