Wow. You wrote this such a long time ago and still managed to anticipate the canon. I think Itachi does a very insightful description of Sasuke. I can almost feel his guilt as a main factor contributing to his brother's transformation. I loved Itachi, I think he's one of the most complex characters in Naruto. And your story does him justice. Great job!

I got confused a couple of times, but it was good. I liked how you told what the insane guy was thinking and how his actions hurt others.
