Faye, the happy sounds of a reviewer being unleashed from RL, if but for the shortest of time, will be smacking your review buttons in the next hour or to so be warned! I just had to pass comment on this earlier work of yours as it was just so utterly scary, sad and moving all in one breath. The all consuming grief of John Winchester was so palpable so real that you could feel it dripping like poison into his sons life. For all things unnatural he almost lets his son die?! Having a child of my own the joy of bathtime was just so special, so innocent, which you captured beautifully in the young Sam, that you had me wanting to batter John senseless to allow such unnatural harm to come to his son in such a manner. The one thing he should hold most precious to him is almost lost because he cannot get beyond his own doubts and fears. It is only his oldest child, the rock steady honest Dean that keeps this tragedy from being fulfilled. Dean the one true constant in his younger brother's life no matter what. Again wonderful stuff. Thank you.

Another good story, I prefer the Sam stories but this showed a sort-of never before see in sight to the life of Sam and Dean directly after the death of their mother. I also liked the wording that you used. I especially like the part where it says "he was chubby, and cheerful". It was so cute! Lol anyway, I'm SUPPOSED to be doing a geography project(bleh...) but ill try to review another one tonight =)

PS: I got your review replies and I was really happy to recieve them. Normally people just ignore me. So I was right, you are an english teacher. That's awesome. I think I guessed because I tried to imagine my Geography or Science teacher writing on fanfic and it juist isn't possible. Geez, my teachers in my school are so stereotyped to their subject htat even me, a ninth-grader, can tell them apart just by the way they word things and the terma they use. If I knew my teacher wrote on fanfic that would be so awesome! I would love it.

You know, the scariest thing is that I wouldn't doubt that John did something like that. And Missouri, she just kinda added to the mess, even though she didn't mean to. Maybe she just should have told him that it was because his son was pure that the demon went after him. I wonder if John would be more understanding if she told him that...

I loved it! I'm not usually into the fics that relate Mary's death to Sam (I'm more into Dean angst) but this was an exception. I haven't read many fics from John's pov and I really enjoyed the way you wrote him. I totally agree with what you said in your a/n, John should never have laid such responsibility on his kids at such a young age. I'm rambling...anyway, I thought this was great. Please write more!

Jeez John he's just a little baby man. But you can see this happening in the series so completely. Sam and his dad do have issues and his mother and now Jess die over his crib. Something is definitely tied to him.

I can see some part of John he tries to keep buried blaming poor Sam.

I'd love to see this continued in any shape or form. Wonderful job!

Excellent story. And oh so believable. I can see John's pain and need to blame someone for Mary's death manifesting in exactly this way.

This was really well done. There is so much speculation regarding John and how he raised his sons, and I find it totally believable that in moments of desperation that he might lose it a bit, like this, and then harbor tons of regret. Great job!
