This is interesting. I like how it is told from Data's perspective, and how you managed to make his curiousity show through. I am surprised (and glad), that Data finally managed to overcome Starfleet's prejudice and obtain command of a starship. However, I believe the rank of Admiral confers more of a desk job type thing, and that Admirals don't get to captain. (This is one of the reasons why Kirk and Picard were so reluctant to get promoted.)

I like the idea of reunification taking place after "Nemesis". That seems very likely, and of course Spock would have to be involved somehow. The last line is cute (even though I can't picture Spock jumping up and down).
