Everytime I read this, I get the same reaction. Goosebumps, a shiver down my spine. Beautiful, just beautiful.

I love this.

Great story, liked how you hinted that his parents might have been getting better near the end but I suspected that it would have happened sooner. Oh well at least he'll have his parents back.

I love this story. Any chance for a squeal where Neville's parents are so much better that they can interact with their friends and family? Or even just more about Neville? The story was so good I will take whatever you will write.

I just finished rereading this! I read it so long ago I didn't remember what happened.

I loved the way Harry and Neville come together innocently and awkwardly and then fall apart. Harry's questioning of his sexuality, Ron's misguided attempts to plant his own ideas and whether Harry's parents would approve were wonderfully realistic. But Neville growing into his own through this story was absolutely brilliant. At the base of this seems to be his own certainty of his sexuality but through his learning confidence and owning his sexuality he really blossoms. I love how he is sensitive and flows through the story but starts to stand up for what he loves/knows/believes and become a strong young man also. His flirting with Omar without shame or question but with Gryffindor bravery is a great illustration of who he has become in a simple side plot. Harry and Neville at the end, comforting each other and growing closer then Harry finally admitting his interest in Neville, is sweet. Neville's parent starting to come around at the end is also great.

Becoming Neville might be a bit of a misplaced title however because really it feels like he and Harry share the spotlight even though it is from Neville's point of view. Neville is such a great point of view because we can believe his observations of others because we believe him to be observant and sensitive. Also the interludes with Remus and Severus also take attention away from the boys with their own storyline and growth. It's really an amazing story about the summer after Harry and Neville's fifth year where all of these characters evolve brilliantly.

The only complaint I have is all the loose ends, all the future what ifs that the reader is left to speculate about. Stories with those kind of endings, with little resolution, leave me wanting more and more. Yes, we see Neville coming into his own and, as the title suggests, that is certainly resolved but the story has evolved itself beyond that at the end. Will Harry and Neville make a go of it? Their relationship was wonderfully male with neither one "becoming the girl" and I'd love to see it continue. Harry accepted Snape at the end but will he be able to accept him as Remus' mate? Would canon continue like in the books or would the strength and relationship between Neville and Harry affect it to make the outcome different. How will Neville's relationship to Harry, as close friend and/or lover and/or significant other, affect Harry's relationship with Ron and Hermione. Now that Ginny and Dean are in the know about Neville's parents will they also be included more? Will Harry and Neville be able to keep out of each others beds when they share a room with the others at school? How much will the Longbottoms recover and how does that affect Neville when he has to be away at school now that he feels responsible for them? Is Alice Harry's godmother, as suggested in other fan fiction, or will she welcome him as he was? What about Lupin and Snape? Now that the Order have seen how capable Harry and Neville are will they let them in early? There are so many what if's that I just can't stop asking questions!

I'm sure you're horrified by how long this review now is but your story really has touched me and excited my imagination. Unfortunately I am not a writer or I would have taken up the task of answering these questions myself. In the end, I just really want you to know that this is one of the best fan fictions I've ever read and I'll reread it more in the future whether you answer these questions or not. Brilliant job!

and I'll warn you in advance that if you respond to my review I may not be able to answer you back for a while.

This has got to be one of the best and most original stories I have read in a very long time. Thank you for posting it!

Alright, now for the story review:
This was amazing. I've never actually read a Neville-centric fanfiction, and this has certainly gone above and beyond what I'd hoped. Although it's slightly AU, your story does much to explain exactly how Neville changed. The characterization is simply brilliant.
The subplot with Neville's parents, too, was fantastic. I'd have liked to see that developed more (a sequel?! epilogue?!) but the ending was just fabulous.
Perfect.
Also, this should be your 10th (or maybe even more) review. Congratulations; you deserve it!

Ah, the ending was too perfect for words. So perfect that it deserves its own review.
