Boat death is indeed a common theme to the stories, odd to a coastal girl more afraid of cars...but another good scene.

This was SO sad. The entire tale just pulls at my heart-strings (I started crying halfway through). Homecomings after long journeys just do that to me (and what really got me was poor, poor Kenshin. . .). The entire piece is extremely emotional and keeps with the characters so well. It definitely strikes a chord with me, and I think that's where this piece's strength lies. This is definitely a favorite of mine.

I think my spam might be annoying you a little, but I have to say this is my favorite of everything of yours I've read so far. The last two lines are absolutely beautiful. Kaoru's thoughtlessness, Kenshin going quietly and thoroughly to pieces...just heartbreaking. I loved it.

Anyway though, as usual wonderful. And I agree with your depection of how he'd react actually. People seem to forget that he DIDN'T wake from his depression in Rakinmura from a simple, "Ohh, Kaoru's alive!" -which everyone SEEMS to think it is- no, he woke when he found his answer- then he learned she was alive. And he broke because he lost his answer.

He hasn't lost his answer here, but he's lost her. He hasn't lost EVERYTHING- but nearly. Because she is nearly his everything.

Beautiful description truly. It's just SO NICE when people actually GET the characters! *Too much occ vampire ** around lately y'know*
