Dune is often said to be the sci fi version of fantasy Lord of the Rings. Both are masterworks, written by great writers, and have excellent main & minor characters.

Main difference: LOTR: 22 388 fics. Dune: 40. !

Even tiny LOTR characters like Grima or Ioreth (!) have their own fanfics, sometimes their own fanclub! Strangely, none cares to write about Dr Yueh, Piter de Vries or Hwi Noree. Why? Could it be because a Mary Sue would look kinda dumb in Dune universe (imagine the Sue flirting with a Guild agent because she can’t afford a space travel, or lost in the desert with Paul and Jessica… urgh)? Think about it! We need Dune fics! Fellow Dune lovers, do something!

I see a lot of potential here; I hope you update soon. It's really well written!

This is very interesting, I like it. Although, people who haven't read god emperor of dune must be confused on the fish speakers. There are a few details I am curious about or confused about, however you want to look at it. Please know I am not flaming you here. First of all, Ghani and Leto are married, I understand. Kalliek is the first pre-born in a thousand years, I understand. What I do not understand is how Ghani is still alive, Leto has accepted sandtrout skin delaying his death I suppose, but how is Ghani alive? forgive me if i missed a detail but i'm...uh...bad with details.

This story shows a lot of promise. In fact, I've sometimes wanted to continue the story myself out of sheer impatience. Keep on writing; I'm sure it will turn out to be a captivating tale.

Nice start, though you lack some details about what happened to the other people in Dune.

This is an excellent start. I write Dune fan-fiction myself, but seldom sit and read the work of others. This is a story that deserves to be finished.

It's a tad short, isn't it guv? I guess there'll be more. You've got a great tone and a lot of shrewd, intriguing description. It's a little confusing, but then again, I'm not into "Dune" that much. Good job.

I haven't read the Dune series as far as your story had gone so I have no idea what the Fish Spearks are but I could tell that this would make a great story. You have the descriptions right, there's this aura of mystery that ALWAYS seems to shroud Frank Herbert's Dune. From what I'm seeing, you're doing an awesome job. Keep it up and continue it!

Not bad! I like the visual images you're portraying. I was a little confused about who the little girl is just by your wording. Plus you have a lot of typos that make it difficult to read in a few places. You do have an interesting start. I'm curious as to who the women are and why they're following the Golden Path. Plus, the exact nature of Patrine's relationship to Leto. Good job!
