| nicky69 2006-02-05 ch 1, | abuseLike you I wasn't too impressed with the way TPTB handled this complicated issue. It seemed to me that they really missed the boat on this one. Instead of a powerful insight into the emotional aftermath of Nick's ordeal they palmed us off with an emotionless, too convienent, cookie cutter, the bad guy gets what they deserve ending. Your story on the other hand was much more satisfying to read and much nearer to real life. No one could recover from such an ordeal so quickly and no matter what they thought it would indeed never truly be over. Every experience that we have changes us in some way. Some effect us only superficialy but others touch us to our very core and change us on such a fundamentel level that we are altered forever. Nick himself said it in "Overload"- "I guess it's what makes a person". You ave captured Nick's turmoil as he tries to come to terms with these changes. It isn't pretty to see but it feels real, as does Warrick's uncertainty about how to help his friend and his refusal to give up on him. Great work. Hugs Lou:) |
| Mma63 2006-01-28 ch 1, | abuseYou're brilliant with Nick/Warrick friendship feelings and this one shot confirms it again. I still frustrated with the writers and producers...it didn't make sense and was under any expectation I had. Thank for share your feelings. Couldn't review Poisonous Fear yet because I'm reading it again (loved it). Crazy about your new fics! |
| Kirsty 2006-01-23 ch 1, anon. | abuseLoved this! Can't wait for your next big story! |
| BuddingBeauty 2006-01-22 ch 1, anon. | abuseGreat story...aftermath of episode. I agree too little time spent on Nick's day of truth. Also hard to interpret Grissom's feelings/response to the discovery of the audiotape. Great expansion on what nick's feelings may have been watching Kelly OD in front of him...just adds to the emotional baggage he now carries with him.. Too bad CSI writers don't delve a little more into the psyche or personal lives of the team. Overall, great story...thoroughly enjoyed your take on it... |
| sherryw 2006-01-21 ch 1, | abuseHey loved it...poor Nick. I feel really bad for him. I'm looking forward to you other stories. Can't wait! |
| iboneki 2006-01-20 ch 1, | abuseI can always count on you for great Warrick touches in Nickcentric stories. This was no different. I wished he was involved more in DLG.. in fact I wish they all were. Everyone was affected so much by GD and I think the subsequent episode mentions have been ... inadequate. But luckily great fic writers are around to pick up the slack. Nice job!! |
| shamelessOne 2006-01-20 ch 1, | abuseAw, I wish this would be continued some time. Because I loove it. Perfect. Can't get enough. lmao, I'm a little weird tonight. |
| wraiths-angel 2006-01-20 ch 1, | abusethat was really cool and the two new stories seem they are going to be really good and especially looking forward to the story 2, i wondered if you were going to do a sequal? |
| KASEY64 2006-01-20 ch 1, | abusenice story. I'm glad that Warrick was able to be there for Nick. I wish he would have been more involved in the episode. I still an't believe this is about a ransom. I thought the only reason that Walter Gordon demanded ransom was to find out what lengths the CSIs would reach to rescue Nick. I didn't think the money as important. I'm glad there is fanfiction to fill in the spaces that the show writers leave blank. |
| chrissie0707 2006-01-20 ch 1, | abuseHey - nice oneshot. Very different from what ended up popping into my head. I really just don't know what to say about the episode. It kind of made me mad, that they had so much to work with, and yet touched on it so lightly. And it's definitely not over. And as for your next story - either will undoubtably be great - just make it fast! :) |
| thatTaylorgirl 2006-01-20 ch 1, | abusethis was well written...i liked the idea of getting Warrick involved. Sure, he's bound to find out what happened...and he'd be the first to tackle Nick with questions/concerns... I had a little trouble with the drunk Nick...not sure it's realistic to the character...but it works for the fic... even had a slight "eyebrow raise" to the action of Warrick pulling in a sobbing Nick..I dunno...just rambling some thoughts off that happened to pop into my head... the episode was slightly disappointing...and it seems, at least for the fans...it shouldn't be over yet...there needs to be more...It's all a little too clean cut. I had to go write my own post-ep after the show last night...seemed too many questions were just left unanswered... anyway... good writing!! can't wait to see what you come out with next!! |
| rojaji 2006-01-20 ch 1, | abuseI wasn't too happy with DLG either, it seemed they dedicated a few minutes of the show to the post-gd stuff because they were obligated to. So then they kill off all of the guilty parties so that they never have to bother with it again. How convenient. But hey, I was leaving a review for you wasn't I! Sorry about that, darn TPTB anyway. nick handling everything with liquor - good idea, liked it. he's being beaten down by life, he was strong enough to get past the whole nigel crane thing, but is he strong enough to get past this now? you wrote a good warrick too, concerned and taking care of his friend, but not too many words, not too sappy. just the strong quiet support that he is. and your mention of tina understanding about warrick staying over at nicks - I often see tina written as this horrible uber ** (sorry Yo!Blingers, I'm sure she is one, really! ;p ) but it's nice to see her written more lifelike, as a normal person who isn't already scheming and conniving to sleep with her doctor friend when warrick's not looking. and finally I see you have some plans for us - two more stories in the works in fact. remember - I still want a oneshot where they're just relaxed and happy or playing bball and having fun - where nothing mean happens to them. The poor guys could use the break the way you put them through the wringer. We could too! but I can't wait for you to start posting the new stories - and glad you're doing a sequel to PF - for our sakes since you let the big bad guy get away! |
