I enjoy the darkness about it--much more subtle and tempting, almost as if it were nothing more than a whisper in the air to the characters, especially where the Exile is concerned. I find it all the more intriguing that you chose to describe a childlike innocence in the Disciple and you make a heavy change in Atton and the Exile's relationship, becoming nothing more than just pleasures of flesh. I really liked this--it carried a dark theme well, and you characterized an exceptionally bitter Exile. And believe me, Santa IS out to get us all!
