the Unrequited Lover 6/23/06 . chapter 1Voot! I never read it. I am a stupid. ::hangs head::
Vladislaus Dragu? ::doth raise an eyebrow:: Why, my dear Szpara...I do believe that you have a soft spot for Mlle Carere...even if you call him a scoundrel! You know, in the 18th century that was almost a dirty word. You could get challenged to a duel for saying it!
But anyway, it was very interesting. I hope I'm not a stupid because I have never read any Sherlock Holmes. The only thing I know about any of this is that Doyle was highly gullible in stark contrast to Holmes, and that when he met Oscar Wilde, Oscar asked him if he'd seen Oscar's play (I don't remember which one was playing at this time). When Doyle said he hadn't, Oscar replied, "Ah, you should see it. It is a masterpiece." Or some other Oscar-esque thing.
But from all I know of Sherlock Holmes, this sounds exactly like him (the skepticism). After all, I've read two books based off Sherlock Holmes-The Angel of the Opera and the Canary Trainer, both featuring Holmes in PotO. (Neither book was exceptional, but you should read them for entertainment purposes sometime. I disagree with several takes on the characters, mostly the Persian, Raoul, and Christine, but they're all right.) Poor Holmes! Why can't he love? Stupid detective, gah! |
