Aw, pretty cute. But resurrecting Jack is sort of like the people who tried to resurrect you-know-which-character in their Harry Potter Book 7 fanfics. It's wishful thinking, but it sort of diminishes the impact of the deaths. Good writing style, though. The dialect was quite satisfactory. I do like to believe Alma Jr. knew about them, or eventually found out about them, so that part of the story is spot-on. Keep writing!

Oh my goodness. I cried so much while reading that. Why couldn't that have happened in the real story? I remember the first time I watched it I desperately wished that maybe Jack was only faking. But no. Thank you for that story.

I just saw your story listed on the BBM Forum and thought I would check it out. I really enjoyed it--I love stories where he aint as dead as the movie makes it look like. And Alma helped! That's a good twist on the story (no pun intended). Poor Ennis...so emotional. What a great story. Thanks.

Congrats on this fabulous fic. I esp loved your characterisation of Ennis as such a clammed up, broken and resigned soul. Very true to the original. This of course only multiplied the huge joy for him (and us readers) that came from your clever tweak of the ending of BBM. As much as I love BBM, the movie and the short story - oh yes I do love them with a passion that few can understand (not you guys of course, you guys understand alright)-the truth is they're so heartwrenching for me that sometimes *I can hardly stand it* :) Your much happier and preferred ending provides me with hope and much needed respite from the crushing weight of canon. Everytime I watch the DVD, I have to go back to your fic afterwards and reread it to put me bk in a workable mood for what's left of the day. Nough said. Thanks for doing this for us.
