This was, above all, a wonderful review, and I must say I have looked for some kind of EXPLANATION by "Tom" after he kileld Peter Smith Kingsley . He did NOT have to kill Peter...Peter probably would have been aghast, but the truth wouldn't have meant the end of their affair. I am heartsick bu t gratefu l for th is wonderful "ending." LOVED it. The Talented Mr. Ripley is a movie I've been obsessed by ever since I first saw it...have the DVD -- the director's insightful comments, and that of the cast. Wonderful movie -- even BETTER DVD. This lives up to the amazingness that was the movie. One of the things that I appreciate, apart from the complete ICness of Tom, is that you did not conclude anything and kept the air of mystique around Tom despite it being in his POV.
Toms breakdown is beautifully organized and written as well.
