I could see where Hammond could get away with it.

He could always say that to his grand-daughter that the adventures of SG-1 are just stories that he tells her.

Like my uncle who was a guard at a county lock-up in Texas so since it's the south you would have the usual bunch that ends up there for some reason or that.

So my uncle has tales of these usual suspects & what they did to get in jail that time.
