This is a highly entertaining 'what if' story, I have to say, and my only criticism is that you seem to have made Scarlett a lot more mature than she was in the book. At least, you've sped up her maturing process. Like her caring for Wade, and letting Suellen marry Frank, etc. And realizing that Ashley doesn't really love her--Scarlett's not NEARLY that self aware.

But, you're obviously putting Scarlett and Rhett together, so I don't care much. Their dialogue is crackling, it's very in character and THEM.

This is so good! Love the scene at the piano and the swimming scene. Your dialogue between Rhett and Scarlett is wonderful; I don't ever want it to stop. Please continue this story. You've brought us right to the edge here; don't leave it as a cliffhanger.

Please update :) I love this story and feel like I've been waiting forever to find out where you take it (and I love the direction it's going in!)

This is certainly a step in the right direction. I wonder what new conflicts might arise in the life of Rhett and Scarlett at Tara... especially if they still need the money for taxes! :)

I think my heart stopped beating with this chapter. This was SO lovely. So. This. Ugh. So lovely.

A few chappies back, I thought how it was improbable that Rhett could stay at Tara without word getting out from the Calverts or Tarletons or etc. that he was there ... but you answered that in the next chapter, so I really have no complaints.

I've never read a ffic quite like this, and am enjoying it very much~
