What a thoughtful short story, and that different from many HikaGo fanfics too! This is a really big 'what if', although we can all probably imagine more loss than gain from such a scenario.

I like how go is all around Hikaru, but he doesn't even realise it. ^_^

Wow! I absolutely love this story!

Your style of giving very short, but important glimpses, into the characters' lives is really captivating. Somehow, you manage to tell a whole life-time with only so few words. It's haunting how different Hikaru could be if he hadn't discovered Sai.

Despite its shortness (well, more likely, because of its shortness) this is an incredible story!

Ah...that hurt. This...too true that it hurt me. Especially that part when Hikaru and Touya saw each other, the fact that they did not know anything about each other and that they had nothing to do with each others' lives.

How frightening, that thought...

Anyway, that aside, this was really good and realistic. Emotional, even. Man, that somewhat made me depressed! Haha, and that's a good thing, mind you, since it means that your writing had stirred emotions. :)

I like the story. I just don't understand why you put it angst. It isn't sad, is it?

Very creative and interesting take on "what if" I like how you connected the characters with Hikaru through small instances where he met them. Somehow, it's depressing too, to think about him not becoming friends with Waya and Isumi and Touya etc, and SAI! Sai who is stuck in the goban... great job!

I wouldn't have minded the fact that Hikaru and Akira never become rivals if only they would have ended up as lovers. In any case nice fic. ^_^

An intriguing little story. I rather like it and find it interesting that he was involved with sports in the story as well. It was very nice especially the trickling in of names and such of other players from the story.

Though it's depressing to know what would have happened to Sai. I must admit, It's still fascinating to imagine an 'alternate universe' based on Hikaru never meeting Sai. :D

It's a good story. Well written and sad. But still a good job.
