Reiycheru 2008-03-10 . chapter 23Hey over there! *waves* It's great to hear from you again! I do hope you're feeling better, and I hope what ailed you wasn't anything too serious . . . *pats you*
Well, writing-wise at least, you appear to be on top form! A fantastic chapter, what a ride it was to read . . . =D You certainly came back in with a bang. You tackled quite a number of things in this installment - it eased off the pressure just enough while creating some new questions for us to ponder over as well. Things were getting a little chaotic . . .
So . . . Naraku's intentions are finally unmasked, hm? Or is there possibly even more to it? *shakes head* You never know with that guy . . . Does this mean, then, that we shall be hearing from Kikyo at some point? That could be interesting . . . And I have to admit, I'm glad Sesshomaru decided to overlook Kagura's poisoning him - I didn't really want him to kill her, after all, she's as much a victim as anyone under Naraku's control. But I noticed that similar strain within the manga - Sesshomaru is not willing to help her with Naraku point blank, because his belief seems to be that you must face your own battles with courage and self-respect, not resorting to bribery or hiding behind someone else.
His piece in the beginning of the chapter was absolutely brilliant by the way, the reading really flowed very smoothly and I could picture it vividly; his urgency, panic, denial and vaccilation were wonderfully executed. Very concise, I thought it. And it's nice to know he's getting past his preconceptions of Rin, finally. Also, I love the way you handle his Youkai side. Sometimes it's easy to forget WHAT he is, when all you see is WHO he is: Sesshomaru, fore-runner of corporate society, modern business man through and through, most wanted bachelor etc, etc. He's a whole personality in your hands, and I have to commend you on pulling that off.
Alright, so we're finally facing the music here! *dances* He and Rin must deal with this together; Rin needs to get over her insecurity and Sesshomaru needs to face his feelings for her. Uh, that is, if Inuyasha doesn't try to take a lump out of him first. I dunno, I always thought Inu would be quite protective of Rin - little sister type relationship she shares with him. One thing's clear though, that baby certainly won't lack for a family unit with everyone here. And Totosai, it's awesome to finally see him here! We certainly could use the POV of someone older and - LOL - "wiser" . . . Nah, I've always been of the opinion that that crafty old dog is far more clever than he lets on in any case.
I'm still curious if SessMom is ever going to pop up, though . . . ;) Guess that decision lies with you though, oh might author lady XD I really loved this chapter, truly I did, and I'm glad you're up and about again. Til next time! Ja, mata! |
