Your writing makes me ache! It has such clarity of imagery, both in the evocation of context and understanding of the characters internalised emotion. It's interesting how this effect is achieved, as the POV/narrator's voice is quite distanced from Ico. It's very reminiscent of the game.

Reading such good fic makes me want to be a better writer, to try harder, to appreciate more - I hope I can learn something from your example.

It FREAKING BLEW MY MIND.

Ueda can say what he likes about Shadow being a "spiritual successor" to Ico: I say the man's lying through his teeth. Shadow has got to be the prequel.

And man, this story... *seamlessly* integrated the two together. I've always been of the belief that Dormin was indeed a being of evil. But it was the kind of evil that appears to be charming and helpful at first, not unlike the Demon King Fomortiis in Fire Emblem 8.

I love the way you incorporated the Wanderer's soul connected to Ico (you will not catch me dead calling him "Wander"). And oh, the sweet delicious irony of it all: Mono being the one to kill him every time he is reborn.

This story managed to take all those little theories I had floating around in my mind and connected them all brilliantly. Mono the Dark Queen... Ico the latest reincarnation of the Wanderer... Dormin screaming to be whole again...

Ico - and Shadow of the Colossus - are truly works of art.
