InHateWithPeople 1/1/11 . chapter 2such a great story, i would've been extremely happy if there was more. |
Ancient Galaxy 2/15/06 . chapter 2Write more dammit ! I demand more of this ! Excellent :-) |
Fredericka 2/13/06 . chapter 2I think you've captured the side of Alexander that took not only Hephaestion for granted but also his friends. Introducing his Persian concubine to them at a feast, much less nestling in his arms, would have outraged them. And, as you so beautifully revealed to us in Chapter l, Hephaestion is his temple. He needs to remember that temples, however strongly built, can be pulled down and lost forever. Don't worry too much about feeling insecure; that will get better in time. And you've a very good mentor in Parisad. *hugs** Fredericka |
moon71 2/13/06 . chapter 2Very moving - and so very sad! Please tell me this will end happily! I'm so pleased to see such a quick update, though, so please keep going! |
Fredericka 2/11/06 . chapter 1So many times we are led to believe that Alexander was a super-human who dashed off fearlessly with never a backward glance. As your story clearly illustrates, he, together with Hephaestion had the same doubts and insecurities as any other young man facing such a daunting future. And it's beautiful the way you perceived Hephaestion becoming the "temple" where Alexander could "rest". I think you are absolutely right. That's why, when Hephaestion died, Alexander literally had no place to go to find peace...so he joined Hephaestion. Fredericka P.S. I think I commented on this lovely story on another fandom, but wanted to tell you again how much I enjoyed it. And I'm very glad that you are posting on this site; it seems much easier to find the kind of stories I enjoy...such as yours. I believe you mentioned that you might have some more chapters? If so, May we see them soon? |
RedRaiderHottie 2/10/06 . chapter 2good update...poor hephaestion...the doubts that he previously had seemed that they might come true...at least he has cleitos there to comfort and reassure him...alexander says he is doing everything he can...but sometimes he can be so naive that he makes such stupid mistakes...well can't wait to read more...update as soon as you can |
moon71 2/10/06 . chapter 1What a beautiful story, haunting and romantic. I read it originally on ATG stories but couldn't post a review as I'm not a member so I'm so glad it's here! I'm only sorry I can't review you in Italian, but English is just about my only language. I love the image of the "temple", with all it's childhood make-believe connections, and also the sense of the future casting a shadow, with Hephaestion knowing once they leave they'll never return. I also liked the way you kept the angst at a minimum; Hephaestion's doubts about the future are so believable and so carefully handled. Please continue! |
RedRaiderHottie 2/9/06 . chapter 1that was a really beautiful story...i love the idea of alexander and hephaestion having their very own special place...their own littly temple...can't wait to read more...please update as soon as you can |
