Very nice little vignet there; Ranec's preogress toward healing. I'm one of those guys who's never disliked Ranec, BTW, so I like seeing him happy in the end. He never struck me as a bad guy; he just came along at tthe wrong time in Ayla's life and then became so infatuated he couldn't see that he wasn't the right person for her. Other than that, he struck me as a pretty good guy; he even loved Rydag, which in itself marks him as a man of good character IMHO.

Nicely written, and too bad it's a one-shot; I'd love to see a follow-up to this. Oh, and didn't I see this over at ECFans? It seems very familiar...

I love the Earth's Children series and I'm a little surprised that there are so few stories here, so it was nice to see two new ones. This was very sweet, nicely done...it doesn't go on and on like some. Well done, and I hope there'll be more!
