As I was reading the last few pages of An Echo In The Bone, it started to seem a little... familiar... and I was like, hmm, Jamie taking John Grey at gunpoint and kidnapping him but not really? Where have I read this before? ! That's so funny, I love this story and I love that parts of it are actually canon now.

Very well written story. Lord John Grey and Jamie both seem very believable. I'm glad that it stopped at holding only, as that is the more likely outcome for the two of them.

Enjoyed your story. You did a good job writing their characters and as always, adding to the angst for poor old Lord John Grey, who I love dearly.

A wonderful story! I love it! (In fact, I expected something like this to happen in the sixth book and was surprised there was no similar confrontation in there.)
I loved the idea as much as your writing style, very much like the original, with the little undertone of irony always present (especially the reference to Claire). And it's so sad that they'll never really come together. You absolutely got the mood and kept them perfectly in character (-as nice as it would have been if John had run away with Jamie, it wouldn't have been realistic).
The only little detail I've been missing a bit, was John's mental response to Jamie's remark about buggering in front of the soldiers... ";-)

Wow...there are WAY not enough fics about my beloved on here. And so few that write so well!

Poor, poor John...I'd love him forever, if only he'd have me. Alas.

Oh, I love John Grey and you've written him and Jamie perfectly. I agree with the other reviewer, you are a god, and I really hope you write another one shot or a second chapter
