This is so brilliant. What a monster Miles was-why did they ever let him out of the house without an Armsman? You can't get around them by accusing them of cowardice.

I had one qualm: Miles runs down a gravel slope, rocks fall on his head, and Elena slams him to the ground. How does he walk home? Should be carried in a litter.

Oh, what fun! And what a great Young Miles! This kind of fill-in-the-background-of-a-throwaway-line-in-canon fic is one of my favourite things to read when it's done well, and this is an excellent one. Three cheers!

Great story! You captured the characters well. I especially liked the funniness of Miles' comments at the ending.

This is a great childhood story, and very in the spirit of the books. I was laughing at how Miles cajoled his companions, and when they slammed into the wall. This story makes me wonder how the characters ever survived to adulthood.

That was lots of fun! I wish that there were more Miles as a kid stories. By the way - you have one little typo. Somewhere near the beginning of the story there is a him where it should be his.

Hahahah! Oh, he's so wicked, while being a perfectly twelve twelve-year-old. I love Ivan's sulky eventual wearing down and Elena's staunch rule abiding (almost). And beyond characterization, the feel of the tank and the cave and the rock-fall is most kinetic and excellent.
