Mischief, but also all of the hurt and grief that Azkaban and various Black family members gave him. And I love how Andromeda holds it together through the whole thing. I hate fics that make it seem like Sirius sprung full grown from the ground as a Dark-opposing Gryffindor, when in actuality, his family's beliefs had eleven full years to take root before he got to Hogwarts and met James. And even then, it probably took until their third-year to really become best mates, regardless of the silliness in DH, that had them it hit off on the first train ride. So, excellent job. I always wondered myself, why Andromeda was never apart of the Order, when she quite clearly was against her family and her family's belief, and her daugther was in the thick of things. I especially enjoyed the nods towards the Flints, Rookwoods, and Burkes, who were all Death Eater related families or Dark sympathisers, especially in regards to Sirius. We mustn't forget that Sirius came from these threads, and no matter how much he trivialised it as an adult, it probably hurt quite deeply to snip threads with them when he was disheirited. Splendidly beautiful! |
