I must have neglected to leave a review when I read this fic the first time, so I'll do so now. It's an amazing study of the decline and fall of a relationship. One feels with both protagonists, but especially with House, who loses everything that is important to him within the span of a few months. The way House and Stacy grow apart slowly, in fits and jerks, is painful to observe, but logical in its progression.

The chapter in which Stacy leaves House on the stairs to have her personal meltdown is especially harrowing. Can one blame Stacy when she's obviously losing it? Then again, can she afford to lose it when House is in the middle of a flight of stairs (no parent can afford to do so, no matter how close they are to the breaking point)? And how blind is she that she doesn't realise that House can't fend for himself at this point? At this point at the latest it becomes clear that neither really knows the other: Stacy was and is unable to predict House's reaction to his predicament or assess his feelings at any point, and House is equally unable to gauge when he pushes Stacy past her breaking point.

And then there's Wilson with Julie, seemingly in a perfect relationship, but we know how that will end. It's a glimpse at what House and Stacy used to be like (minus the cloying harmony), while House and Stacy's present foreshadows Wilson and Julie's future.

...All I can say is, WOW. This is definitely not only some of the best House fanfiction I've read, but some of the best fanfiction in general. You captured House and Stacy's relationship and their characteristics so accurately it's astounding; in fact, in the future this will probably be what my brain references as the "official" history of House/Stacy that the show didn't really provide us with. I was especially impressed at how you portrayed House's reaction to Stacy leaving; it rang very true. House doesn't exactly seem like the type to break down sobbing, but you wrote him in a way that showed just the right emotion that would be consistent with his personality. I also really loved the unique format of the story, and how you added just enough medical jargon to make it believable. Also, gotta love how you threw in House's GH fan status; even though now they have him as a fan of that fake soap, "Prescription Passions", one can never forget how in the pilot, he was a GH fan, lol. I guess I'll stop gushing over this setory and jsut sum it up with: fantastic job! I'm off to check out some of your other works now. :)

Wow, I just read it all (took me 3 days but still...) and it was absolutely amazing. I loved everything about it, I don't know what else to say, except I wish it didn't end lol.

I told you on LJ, but I just wanted to say again here how much I loved this fic. It was so painful to see Stacy drifting away. I would have liked just a little more support at the end (Did changing the bed help? Didn't he move into the appartment we see on the show at some point? When does House get the Diagnostics department or when does Cuddy get to be Head?), but the rest of the piece more than makes up for that.

I found a few typos in this last chapter:

"...left hum even as HE begged."

"...capable OF doing laundry."

"God but YOU'RE annoying."

I think I've recc'd this to every House fan I know. You've written an amazing story here. The flow is interesting and heartfelt. It's completely, utterly believable (how can this not be canon? lol), and your characterization is the best I've seen.

omg...this fanfic was AMAZING. your such a great writer and i LOVE house/stacy. i'm so terrible at putting my feelings into words and expressing my opinions without sounding generic...but your story was great. i really felt the emotions of the characters, and you kept them in character so well. thank you for writing this amazing story, i really enjoyed reading it.

I can't believe you only have 37 reviews for this. It's one of the best House/Stacy fics I have ever had the pleasure of reading. You have an uncanny ability of getting inside the characters minds, especially House and Wilson. I can't wait for another chapter.

*sigh* Fantastic, as ever. I love how you get inside the characters' heads and really make their thoughts and feelings and motivations believable. You backstory for House is always so consistent and believable that I come to accept it as canon. :D This chapter was a beautiful character piece.. House's issues with the bed a wonderful metaphor for his struggle.

Namaste: I have to tell you that this is one of best fan fics I've ever read. The dialogue is perfect (sounds so much like them that I'm convinced this is really the way the breakup happened), and I can't wait for the final chapter. When do you think you'll be done with it?

Hm...your style is so strong and clear, but I felt this was a bit of a 'filler' chapter, waiting for the final meltdown - there was a sense of marking time, which may have been what you were going for! - and it may read better as part of the whole. I kept kind of waiting for something to happen, other than introspection. Having said that, I always feel I'm actually there when I read your stories, and you have House's character down to a 't'. I'm waiting with interest for the last chapter!

And yet another great and well-written story! Next chapter please and keep up the good work!
