And I share your feelings about the Nii-san bit. Normally, Japanese words mixed into a fanfic make me scream. (Though I did, of course, go through that phase. Though, in my defence, I was actually living in Japan at the time...)

But for FMA..? There are some words which just don't come accross quite as well. Chibi-chan. Onii-san. Sometimes even Oka-san.

And even Ed and Al... I type them that way, in English as do most others... But I read them and hear them in Japanese.. with the cute 'Edo' or 'Aru' sounds... :P
