Wonderful! It's great to see a fic that's based on the books... I feel like there's a lot more character to work with (although the movies were great in their own way!). Please keep writing these, I've enjoyed these first ones so much.

Wow! That was really moving. I love the way you put in little bits from the books - I haven't read the books but I have heard of some of those moments... like when Bush was in the hospital and Hornblower brought him the basket of fruit. That was funny what you wrote about the pineapple, LOL... I can just imagine Horatio would sneakily eat the pineapple, hehe. Only the second one he'd ever seen or something like that, wasn't it? Hehehe...

Anyway, that was REALLY good and I'll be keeping an eye put for more of your writing :-D

What a beautifully written piece! I liked this very much, and as others have said here in the reviews it is quite rare to find this quality of storytelling in the HH section. It was brilliant. I loved the descriptions of the surroundings and the old Don Massaredo. Very good :-D

Very, very impressive, an extremely intricate piece, with the ability to ensare the reader wholly and completely.
Your potrayal of emotions -especially in that last chapter- was flawless.
To find fics like this in the Hornblower section of is rare (though not unheard of!) so thank you for the opportunity to discover such a story.
