Wow. It wasn't a feel-good story in the slightest. To be honest, a good portion of it made me feel sick - or at best, numb.

And that's what's so great about it.

You were brave enough as an author to tackle really difficult, gritty subject matter - and NOT romanticize it! (vs. what almost everyone else does, intentionally or by mistake)

This made me realize what a marriage law would realistically look like between Snape and Hermione - and it's not pretty.

I like this fic. I really do. It's different than most "Now that we got married we're in LOVE" fics.

Snape was quite mean in this fic! Good job on making him an unattractive jerk. Hermione's emotions were excellent, her detachment and calm, and ruthlessness. Very well written, as usual.

I must say I probably like your take on the end of things better than hers, and this is what I think would be rather likely to happen if the marriage law situation actually existed. Not because Severus is such a hateful person, but because he probably would be in a forced - more or less - marriage...I mean, knowing the woman is not with him out of love, but because she had no better choice...that would probably make him even more bitter.

Anyway, this is a great story - I seem to have a soft spot for "marriage trouble stories", particularly the ones that don't end happily (says something about me). I loved how strong and confident Hermione is here, and how determined.

I do appreciate and love the irony of the title and potion's name. I enjoy a variety of marriage law fics, but I have a spot in my heart for ones as dark and unrelenting as this one. Much as I love the Potions Master and his various fanon forms...this is more to canon than most others. I enjoyed this story very much.
