great oneshot. Really believable written, expecially Kaoru. I love the tension you build up and then finally the moment, kenshin drops his mask- beautiful, touching. Very good :)

Well, for coherence sake, i'll add that this was an amazing read.. Kaoru, mature, tactfull and so very concise..

The flow of this piece coupled with the detail, every minute descriptive touch makes this memorable.. the character are drawn masterfully, the speech executed with clarity and a natural though strained pitch.. awesome

The scene, where she looks at him, by the well, is pitted with parallels and stark symbolism.. and even if it weren't the lines of tension are almost tangible.

Good work on the ending too.
