I have to say this is a very successful experiment. *grin* I could just picture Sam sitting at a table with pen and inkpot and paper, and concentrating very hard to get it all down. I loved the bit about having someone trustworthy reading it out to Gaffer instead of the a gossip!

This was... wow. It was wonderful. You captured Sam's character perfectly and this is just how he'd write a letter to his Gaffer. It's perfect! You know what, I think you found an anciant document that was the actual latter from Sam to his father and you just typed it up, because it's wonderful! The Valar have truly blessed you.
