Okay, as I'm sure you were already told, it was EC Comics who published Tales From The Crypt in the early 1950s. DC at that time would never publish something that edgy. EC's other horror comics were The Vault of Horror and The Haunt of Fear. EC also published mystery comics, with ShockSuspense Stories, science fiction comics, war comics, and humor comics. These are the guys who created MAD Magazine. MAD started out as a comic book, written by the hilarious Harvey Kurtzman and done by top artists Will Elder, Wally Wood, and Jack Davis.
